Apologies but I need to take a personal day. We decided early this morning to take our kids out of school due to the spread of the virus in DC and the morning has been a bit chaotic.
I will return tomorrow. And the good news is that our normal Spring Break vacation during the last week of March is not happening, so that week I plan to be publishing instead of slacking off somewhere.
Thanks.
No apologies needed, Bill. Family first! Do what's needed, and my best wishes.
Echoing other readers, family first Bill. We’ll be here tomorrow. The unfortunate new vocabulary of social distancing is absolutely necessary to make the pain of COVID-19 recede sooner rather than later. Taking the kids out of school may or may not seem extreme to others, but living on lockdown these few months in China (and having gone through SARS in 2003 here) provides unwanted experience on the precise necessity and benefit of doing so. Our kids have been out of classes for months now - with me working almost entirely from home we are giving new definition to “quality family time”. Stay calm, sane and healthy.
