The PRC is now on the May 1 Holiday. There will not be a regular newsletter for the rest of this week, though we did record an episode of Sharp China this afternoon on the Politburo meeting and the Third Plenum, Tesla and US-China relations that we will publish Wednesday.

Politburo meeting and Third Plenum - The Politburo met today for its April meeting, and the topic was to analyze and study the current economic situation. The meeting also decided that the Third Plenum will meet in July, and the “main agenda will include a report by the Political Bureau to the Central Committee, with a focus on studying further comprehensive deepening of reforms and advancing Chinese-style modernization”. I published an unofficial translation earlier today. The readout came out after markets had closed Tuesday in the PRC and on the eve of the holiday.
