genuine question prompted by the sinoinsider letter. the CPC, as an organ that has operated for nearly 100 years, ran china for 70 and grown to 90 million members (thus 200-400 million interested first and 3rd parties) in a country that grew from 500 million people to 1400 million, is it an enemy of humanity? and if so, how should it be dealt with?

Hope executives at Sinocism HQ doing OK. I do not know this Michael Swaine but based just on this exchange, he doth protest too much. By simply disparaging opposing views as smears, etc., he makes himself appear unable to defend his points by logic.

Poisoned atmosphere makes proper debate impossible. that s what is happening, internally in the US and externally between the US and the PRC, resembling what has always been the case within the PRC (and to some extend Asia). A class struggle mentality: "if u disagree with me on anything, it's got be because u r bad in some fundamental way and out to harm me".
