Re the “illegal” photos of military equipment taken by Michael Spavor, what about all the military material on full public display at China’s national day parades?

Thus the difference between rule of law and rule by law. I was in Beijing for both of these parades. What I found most interesting, even amusing, is that afterwards, as segments of the parades were endlessly streamed on subways, no one seemed interested, not at all. I smiled while watching them because even President Xi seemed to be bored with the parades. Sticking out of his limousine, he kind of reminded me of Michael Dukakis and the infamous photo of him posing wearing a tank helmet. There's a pleasant ridiculousness to both. One thing I noticed about the parades that no one in the commentariat mentioned, is that in the first parade, the primary camaflouge color was blue and white, that of coastal combat. The second parade featured the more common differing shades of green, the kind required for more interior warfare. This was probably more than a fashion statement.
